I have damaged my floor      How Did This Happen - What can I do Now?

#  Spiked or stiletto high heeled shoes, especially those in poor repair, may cause denting and related damage to hardwood floors due to the extremely

high compressive force they generate.  Such footwear can produce dynamic loads in excess of 1000 pounds per square inch, even when worn be someone

of slight or average build.  SW Advanced Flooring will not accept claims for damage from such exposure.

#  Damage will also result from movable furniture which does not have Protective Felt pads.  When moving heavy pieces of furniture see our page:

I just had a Beautiful floor laid - I don't know how to look after it.

This maintenance procedure is offered as advice only.  It is designed to ensure that the beauty of your wooden floor is maintained for as long as possible, thus avoiding deterioration of the finish and ultimately, the wood itself.  Please contact SW Advanced Flooring, if you are unsure.

After the final coat has been applied, it must be left to cure for a minimum period of 5 days.  PLEASE NOTE:  It is important that the curing time of the finish used is completed before implementing the following:

INITIAL MAINTENANCE TREATMENT:

#  In order to minimize damage to your floor surface, created by dirt, abrasive material and moisture, fit entrance matting.

#  Tables, chairs, and other moveable furniture, should be fitted with Felt Furniture Protectors, which will reduce damage to floor surface and are available

from SW Advanced Flooring or any major DIY store.

#  Laying rugs and the implementation of a cleaning programme should only commence once the finish has fully cured.

DOMESTIC INSTALLATIONS

Daily Maintenance

#  Floor must be swept or vacuumed to remove dust and dirt.  We use a cylinder type of vacuum, any vacuum with the brushes raised should be suitable when

used with care.  Entrance matting should also be cleaned and vacuumed regularly.

Regular Maintenance

#  Dirt and spillages should be removed immediately.  Prevention Rather than Cure

#  Occasionally, if required, your floor may be treated with a thin layer of Polish (available for SW Advanced Flooring), which will enhance the overall

appearance and offer further protection to the surface.
